TE150 Reflection on Learning

Format: Hybrid

Student Group: Undergraduate Student

Location: Michigan State University

Course Overview

Learning is inherently human. But learning may look different depending on a multitude of factors. In this course, we will explore the concept of learning by critically examining learning (and related concepts) across various spheres of influence. In particular, this section involves a special focus on schooling contexts and the application of course concepts to teaching and instructional practices.

By the end of this course, students will be able to…

  1. Analyze various influences on learning and the ways in which they may support or undermine academic and/or social-emotional growth of learners.
  2. Evaluate theories of learning and development in educational settings in order to address the cognitive, physical, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of learners.
  3. Integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application to address the needs of learners in an educational setting.
